Well I am not sure if anyone ever left you any questions, but what would be a good way to start losing weight. I am currently about 40 lbs overweight and really want to start losing the weight before it creeps up anymore. I have been going to the gym regularly and been doing about 20-30 mins of cardio on different machines and then only been doing stomach weights for now? Am I doing something wrong or not enough. or what?
Hi Brandi. 20 to 30 minutes of cardio is a good start but definitely not enough. According to the American Council on Exercise, you need at least4 sessions of cardio per week. One session around 30 to 45 minutes for optimum results.
The level of intensity should also be 70 percent of your max heart rate.
You would find this pace not too hard for you to talk during the cardio but you dont want to talk. Get what I mean?
Plus, you need to add in at least 2 weight training sessions per week. The best is that you do a cardio session after your weights because its that time when you burn all just fat.
